Liberal Arts Racial Equity Leadership Alliance (LACRELA)

The Liberal Arts Colleges Racial Equity Leadership Alliance (LACRELA) unites Liberal Arts Colleges and Universities across the United States to collectively address issues of racial diversity, equity and inclusion on their campuses.

Administrators, faculty, and staff across member institutions come together for monthly high-quality professional learning experiences on an array of topics pertaining to racial equity. These leaders have access to a digital repository of useful tools and resources, as well as engage with colleagues beyond their individual campuses through a dynamic virtual community of practice.

Alliance member colleges also participate in a trio of campus climate surveys on a three-year rotational basis – the student survey in year one, the staff survey in year two, and the faculty survey in the third membership year. The data from the climate surveys provides an opportunity for alliance members to make data driven decisions in how they approach their racial equity work. The digital resources and professional development opportunities will aid the alliance members in building their capacities and advancing their efforts to reach their racial equity goals.
